Disagreeing with someone

Nesta lição você vai aprender a discordar de opiniões e propostas, mostrando seu ponto de vista! Também está exemplificado o uso de alguns advérbios para ênfase.

1 . Às vezes você deseja discordar de alguém, mas não quer iniciar uma briga. Leia as frases abaixo e anote os trechos que expressam uma leve
discordância.

a) I’m afraid I can’t agree with you about the price. I think it’s far too high.

b) So, you think young people have too much freedom these days? That’s not really how I see it.

c) I think you’re mistaken. This is a beautiful colour.

d) I can’t really go along with you there. It’s much too big.

e) I don’t really want to but if you want to, let’s go there.

2 . Relacione as frases abaixo com as respostas do exercício 1.

1 You know, I’d really like to go to New York for Christmas this year.
It’s not too far, is it?

How to say it

Quando falamos, normalmente acentuamos a pronúncia dos advérbios para dar mais ênfase. Ouça esses exemplos.

I simply don’t believe you!
He really loves chocolate!

Grammar: Adverbs

Usamos os advérbios com ênfase para reforçar o verbo. Eles geralmente são formados a partir dos adjetivos e quase sempre vêm antes do verbo.

I really don’t want to go.
He always thinks he’s right!
