Marianne’s Journey: Part 12

Marianne meets a woman who she finds out is Philip’s niece. She discovers more about Philip and what happened to him. She begins to make sense of her strange experience. She also feels hope for the future.

 Marianne meets a man on the (1) ……………. who seems a little strange but very friendly and pleasant. He gets off at the same (2) ……………….. . She finds she is looking forward to seeing him. The two start to talk about things and she tells him her sad story. She only really knows his first (3) …………………. .

 She decides that she is starting to fall in love with him and must tell him next time. The train is too full and she can’t see him but she finds his (4) …………….. on the seat where he was sitting. The next time she sees him it is in London. They go to a (5) ……………… together. She decides to (6) ………………… him home one evening.

 After a few days when she does not see him on her way home she catches sight of him. He seems (7) ……………… and doesn’t see her. He gets off at the usual stop and she follows him. As she makes her way back to the station she comes across the grave. It too is overgrown with weeds. There is more writing on it now. She takes the train back to her new life.

 Marianne meets (20) ………………. who she discovers is Philip’s niece. She finds out more about him and what happened to him. For some reason the experience has given her hope for the future.
